The House Agriculture Committee voted to include Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI) in its version of the farm bill!

We are grateful to Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH), a long-time champion of HFFI, who offered the amendment to include HFFI in the House Agriculture Committee’s farm bill. The amendment would expand economic development, grow jobs, and improve access to healthy foods in underserved communities across the nation. The House voted to include the HFFI amendment 21-19. The Senate also included HFFI in its farm bill committee mark-up on Tuesday.

While we still have a long way to go to ensure that HFFI stays in both bills, its inclusion makes a statement that Congress values efforts to improve access to healthy food.

Rep. Suzan Delbene (D-WA)
Rep. William Enyart (D-IL)
Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH)
